The National Map Seamless Server is
running.

Certain tiled (pre-packaged) datasets will be unavailable from 0800 Central Time Friday
13 Nov 2009 until 1200 Central Time Friday 13 Nov 2009 due to hardware maintenance and upgrades.
We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience.

BIL_16INT Format Update - The "BIL_16INT" output format will now return a bil file
that is exactly (rows * columns * 2) bytes in length. The previous version included a few extra
bytes in the header and footer which consequently made the file incompatible with some generic
software packages. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

BIL Format Update - The BIL output format will return data matching the same characteristics as
the original source data. For example, if the original source data for a particular dataset is
8 bit signed integer, then the BIL format for that dataset will also be 8 bit signed integer.
For the NED and SRTM datasets, however, select the output format "BIL_16INT" which will force the
32 bit floating point data to 16 bit signed integer. If you desire the actual 32 bit floating
point data for the NED and SRTM datasets, select the output format "GridFloat" which will deliver
the data as 32 bit floating point.

Additional data formats are now available for all High Resolution Orthoimagery products. The table
below illustrates the available options in green. The default format is GeoTIFF. To change to
one of the new formats, click the "Modify Data Request" button on The National Map Seamless
Server Request Summary Page. Then navigate to the Orthoimagery section and click the dropdown
arrow in the "Data Format" column. Choose the desired format, then click "Save Changes & Return
to Summary" button.
