Elevation Query Web Service Method Documentation
Method Name getElevation
Description Returns a value from a single elevation source for a given latitude/longitude point
Method URL: http://gisdata.usgs.gov/XMLWebServices/TNM_Elevation_Service.asmx?op=getElevation
Input Parameter: X_Value (Required) The longitude for the elevation request as decimal degrees (WGS 1984 Projection)
Input Parameter: Y_Value (Required) The latitude for the elevation request as decimal degrees (WGS 1984 Projection)
Input Parameter: Elevation_Units The units to return the elevation value in.
Valid arguments are:
FEET (default): Value is returned as US Feet
METERS: Value is returned in metric meters
Input Parameter: Source_Layer The source layer to use for the request. The *[Source Layer ID fragment] provides a method of restricting the best available datasets. IE: *NED will only use NED datasets, or *SRTM will only use SRTM datasets.
Valid arguments are:
